Destin West Rv #06 Motorhome

It’s our 3rd year at Destin West. We love the RV resort! The sites are private with plenty of space. Laundry and restrooms are clean. The heated pool is a bonus in October. Close to beach with bay views.

Great RV Campground. We have stayed many times and always a perfect stay. My only suggestion is to have ice available for purchase for campers.

Wonderful place to stay. The location is in a good spot with island boat rental next door and restaurants all around. The campsites were clean and level and trees between for privacy and also a green area of grass for my dogs. The pool was clean and nice right on the bay. Great views! I do wish there were more showers. Our kids like to take a shower in the bathhouse for more space and there was only one shower per bathhouse. But overall great place. We will be back!

Great location and access to Island Resort for ones beach time. The RV park was great in that I lost my wallet on the way and had no ID but I guess I looked was a park.

Great place to stay

We took a motorhome. The spaces were small, but the bushes/trees surrounding the patio made them feel larger and private. Public areas were all clean. Bathrooms in the office area were better than the pool area, and showers are limited. The park is across a large road from the beach, and walking requires you to go across a people bridge, but we simply drove across the street and found a parking spot. Excellent times!

My wife and I are a bit different than most staying in the Destin / Fort Walton area. We work full time out of our RV and four that Destin West was perf we Carly located on the island, very clean and quite. The sights are nicely divided off by vegetation between sights. The pull in sights also allow for a nice private view in front of the RV.
If there is a negative, the road is very narrow which didn’t affect us in the coach but I did help 4 other families trying to back into their sights.

Overall, I highly recommend this park. We did use the heated pool and the pier for paddle boarding. We also walked over to the Island and had drinks by their pool.

4-stars for the grounds. Very clean, nicely landscaped, great pool and staff. Sites are a little narrow. With a 40’ Coach and slides on both sides we had to walk through the sand landscape beds to get to and from our coach. This means sand and dirt in your RV the whole time. Our site had a bush right at the door which was annoying. Pads needed to be at least 24” wider to really accommodate a big coach. I give the location 1-star. If you want the beach scene it is great and the management company gives you bridge access to their facilities on the Gulf. If you don’t or you like going on walks or have a dog go elsewhere. Destin seems to have no regard for pedestrians. Just not a safe area to walk around at all. One breakfast joint in the area, 1mile death walk to get too. No grocery store close. We use e-bikes when we travel and this place left us stranded for the first time.

Great location for a nice stay on the Emerald Coast...the sites are very nice. Much more privacy than the pictures show. The bushes give a lot of privacy between sites, and also you do not feel like you have businesses right next door.
The staff is very friendly and are on top of everything,,,,the pool is nice with a nice view, and the laundry is adequate. The picture on the website makes it looks like the water the park is located on is dark and muddy,,but it is crystal clear ,,,(you guys should get a better picture for that)
The ONLY thing I would like to see improved is an upgrade on the shower houses. The building are okay but they need a remodel and refresh with some better lighting, and a fresh updated feel to them,,,( i was okay with them but my gf was definitely hopping for nicer ones.
Overall I would recommend it to others and would stay again if I come back to the area.

We had a wonderful stay at the Destin West RV Resort. The property is so beautiful, clean, and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. The check-in and check-out process was a breeze. We checked in late in the night and they had all of our check-in information waiting for us. The RV pads are perfect with just enough privacy. The picnic table and umbrella provided was very useful. At night it is so quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed walking over to Ricks Restaurant for drinks at night and the Island pizza is wonderful. The views of the bay were amazing; we loved drinking our coffee and looking out at the water in the mornings. Being able to use the resort pools and beach access across the street at The Island was amazing. Being able to use the pedway to avoid crossing the busy highway was an advantage. We can't wait to return!

We would definitely return to this campground. The beach access required a short walk over a sky bridge which was perfect so you don’t cross the 4 lane. Sites are a little tight especially for motorhomes 30+ feet but the paver pads and little to no sand in your camper trumps the tightness. There’s a check out . A plane lands on the bay behind the campground and picks up cheaters. Overall excellent experience.

Great RV park. Well kept level spots. Sites are close but a lot have privacy. Easy walk to beach via bridge across the highway. Access to the hotel pool a plus. On our one month journey around the Country it was the most expensive stay. We would definitely go back but wish it was more reasonable priced.

They charged more than their website stated and wouldn’t refund it.

Wonderful RV resort, good service, nice sites. Loved the resources at the Island across the street, beach was the best.

The campground was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The office staff was friendly and the grounds were well maintained and clean. Access to the beach and hotel amenities were just a short walk. Our family also really enjoyed having direct access to the inner coastal water where we snorkeled and relaxed in the calm waters. This was our first visit to Destin West campground and we will definitely be coming back.

We had a great time at Destin West RV Campground. It was close to everything we wanted to do. The sites were really nice and flat and well kept. I would camp here again.

We have stayed at this RV resort several times now, but usually in a different spot. While this spot did not have a view of the inland water like the other spot we usually have, it was VERY nice. Like all of the sites here, the landscaping is far better than average and really helps provide privacy between sites. The site was well-maintained, the heated pool was clean and comfortable, laundry facility clean and accessible, and bathrooms also well maintained. There are numerous good restaurants and family activities within walking distance, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. We have been coming to this resort yearly and will continue to do so.

Very nice resort, small and very friendly. Sites were large and easy to get in and out of. Very clean and the staff was awesome. The location was close to everything we needed and wanted to see.

Very good. Had time at the beach and pools. And over at Destin. With the size of RVs (mine is 45 ft.) the width makes it tough to get in and out of without running through the sand.

This was not our first visit to this RV Park and won’t be the last. Easy access to the main Highway and definitely access to the beach. Easy to rent umbrellas, food is handy at the surf Hut. Very clean park, a nice view of the bay as well. The parking spots are extremely nice and offer plenty of room for our motorhome. Just a great place to stay!

Great. Clean, modern,beautiful pool,Great View. WiFi, internet would not work the whole time we were there but they were updating it. Cable TV didn't work. Excellent restaurant next door.

This was my first time at this site. With a 43ft motorhome my front door ended up ahead of the patio which means I had to be careful when stepping out of my coach that I didn't end up in the bush. Don't let the picture fool you. The scarlet bottlebrush bushes are over 8ft tall. I didn't even need to have my privacy draps pulled down. Near the end of my stay a pair of Mockingbirds was frequenting the shrubbery. If I had a shorter bus I would have easily stay at this site again.

It was great. We have already reserved for next year.

Our most recent stay was as special as the others. Mr. Will greeted us warmly and handed over our visitor package, Mr. Jamie stopped by the site to make sure we had any assistance we might need. The grounds were as clean and maintained as always. A wonderfully relaxing time away for the bustle; watching the hummingbirds in the flowering shrubs and the dolphins play in the Bay. And thank you again, Jamie, for always being there to help us out if we need it! We recommend Destin West to all our Rv'ing friends-and will be back!

Second stay with Destin West. Really nice park with the bonus of having access to all amenities at the Island Resort across the street including pools, hot tub, bars, beach, etc. A little pricey but with the Island amenities it's worth the price.

Camping sites are very nice and spacious. Nice pavers all around site. Enjoyed our stay.

The rv park was very clean and well kept up. A big thank you to Jamie and John the two grounds keepers. You can tell they care about their job and the people who stay there. I seen Jamie helping back the RV’s into their spot. Jamie is a good down to earth guy who cares about his job. Thanks a lot to Jamie, John and the two guys at the desk. Our stay was great. Already booked for the late summer.

We had a wonderful time! It was easy getting hooked up, nice large spot with pavers and privacy. Also a beautiful view of the bay or just a short walk across the overpass walkway to the beach and shops.
